Played another game of The Men Who Would be Kings on Friday (more details of that later) which was another great game, much fun was had.

This made me have a rummage in the bits box for figures, and I found a pack of Beja and one of Mahdists. So with a little painting last night, and a little tonight, they are already coming together

This lot (with a couple of extras, thanks Leon!) will make 4 units of Tribal infantry for TMWWBK - which along with some already painted camelry will give me a Mahdist force.

Not quite sure whether to go with the coloured squares on these guys - most pictures seem to only show these on troops wearing tunic and trousers.

Looks great. How did you do the shading on the white cloth?  That gave me enough trouble in 28mm.

I've only looked at these Sudanese long enough to see what figs could be conscripted into an Ethiopian army but I seem to recall the same situation as far as the colored patches go.

fred.

The shading on the cloth is very basic - I painted the white across the sculpted folds, so that some of the black remained showing. Also for the white, I avoided white and used pale sand or ivory.

Thanks chaps.

Got these chaps tidied up tonight, and stuck on bases.

I'll see if they need a bit highlighting tomorrow - they are currently a bit shiny from the wash.
