So the evil white marines are actually the white mayonnaise marines?  :)

You have recently turned me on to using aquarium/terrarium products. Cheap and effective!

And the Green Gerkins - which means we have Condimental Marine Civil War. Which probably makes as much sense as the GW Hersey stuff any way.

The aquarium stuff is good - takes a bit of searching to find stuff with smallish leaves. But most of it is really cheap, especially if you are willing to wait a couple of weeks for delivery.

Nice looking Battle!

When does the Mint Chutney horde begin their WAAAAAGHHH!?

fred.

Good question. Based on Friday night's performance they will be having an extensive rest and refitting exercise, as they lost a huge amount of vehicles and a fair number of marines. The worst of it being their Thunderhawk gunship with terminators onboard, doing a very ineffective pop-up attack against 3 mustard Cerberus, who in returned melted it, and most of the passengers.

Yes, context is critical! Nelson's famous message, flow from the first floor window of a Cheapside bawdy house would take on an entirely different meaning.

As would the term "flag hoist" itself, I suppose.

Shell Holes

Received a couple of packs of the new Shell Holes - I really like the look of them, as they are nice and small and give the look of broken ground following shell fire, rather than the huge ones that some other manufacturers produce that look the the results of a mine explosion. Not sure whether to base them or just leave them loose.

They will also work well with 6mm stuff too

Epic Game

Played another instalment of the Condimental Marine Civil wars on Friday. The former allies of Mustard and Ketchup were now in conflict. I'd had a delivery of new toys on Thursday, so there are a few rather shiney models on the table. But most of them are now an attractive shade of yellow!!

A couple of early game shots with the Ketchup marines swarming forward.

A fun event was the Ketchup Land Raiders advancing, then popping smoke to give themselves cover. The Mustard Cerberus heavy tank destroyers then advanced and shot at them into the smoke, needing 6s to hit. From 12 dice my ally rolled 6, 6s. This rather wrecked the Land Raider formation!!

A bit later, probably the high point of the Ketchup attack

Although the Mustard marines had taken quite heavy casualties early on, they were now tipping the scales back in their favour, with their heavy infantry counter attacking on both flanks. I'd teleported in a couple of units, and initially thought they were doing badly, but they ended up distracting the Ketchup forces and forcing them to move back to counter them. So they seemed to have more value than initially thought.

Shell Holes

If you base them,I would try to get them on very thin bases. Some steel ones or something. IMHO I think mdf bases will make them "rise" too much.

Good looking game, like the craters as they are.

The game looks very impressive. I would also not base the shell holes

Take care

Thanks all. I'm pleased with the table setup, and the colourful armies always look good.

The gaming butterfly flaps its wings again!!

A couple of weeks, another game, another scale...

For some reason* I have decided to build 8th Army in 15mm for the early part of the North African campaign. I already have an army for this in 10mm (of course!) and have some 28mm figures too. The best reason I have is that my mate has 15mm Italians, and I fancied building some plastic tanks.

First platoon of infantry, and lots of support options painted and nearly based.

And lots of tanks, all tin cans with pea shooters!!

I have made very good use of a can of Portland Stone spray paint from Monster Paints.

Hello

The pics of the 8th Army didn't show up for me. Do you have a Google privacy setting or something?

Cheers
