The last few days have been brutal:
Pete Burns from Dead or Alive
Bobby Vee
Steve Dillon (influential comic book artist) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37743510

And most importantly
One of the writers of Dad's Army, David Croft, died a while back, but now it's Jimmy Perry (thank you Andrew for the correction).

Plus my step-great-aunt, five days short of her 100th! Only met her a few times, she could remember airships/zeppelins! :O

Sadly David Croft died five years ago, it is Jimmy Perry who has now joined him after a cracking innings producing comedies which have brought, and continue to bring, so much pleasure to so many.  RIP

But perhaps of more significance to us Brits - Jimmy Perry, at the grand old age of 90. We have him to thank for Dads' Army, Hi-di-hi, and It Aint Half Hot Mum (which also gave rise to the Half Man Half Biscuit tribute band, It Aint Half Man, Mum).
