Was walking up The Bridges in Edinburgh a few years back not paying too much attention to the world when an American stopped me and asked directions to a nearby hotel. I did the usual pointing and waving hands type directions then turned back to focus on the guy to make sure he'd understood my directions and was gobsmacked to find myself talking to Jerry Doyle. Despite my best intentions I then turned into the sort of incoherent, rambling, star struck fan I swore I'd never be. He was really great and spent a few minutes talking about sci-fi in general and Bab5 in particular before sauntering off to his hotel.

Being equally suave and sophisticated ... I walked into a rubbish bin and would have gone nose first into the pavement if a lady hadn't grabbed me by the arm.  =) :-[ :-[ :-[

Wife and I are major fans of Ice Road Truckers. I picture Darrell trying to fix what ever went wrong with plane as it went down. He never seemed to be defeated by any situation. Sad loss  :(

And Gene Wilder - provided many many laughs. Young Frankenstein, one of my favorite movies ever.

The Producers, Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein simply superb films. a sad loss but a great legacy.

I (and this may be an unpopular opinion nowadays) really liked his Willie Wonka. (That sounds bad, dosn't it?)

Loved "the Producers", "Blazing Saddles" and "Young Frankenstein".

Can't remember who, but someone said that Wilder was the master of the silence.
