Flight Stands & Magnets

Did a bit of repair work on the flight stands for me Epic stuff - quite a few had lost their magnets, and a few more needed making. Here are all the skimmers and aircraft - not all needed mending but I had them all out to make sure I had enough flight stands.

Shows how out of touch I am, I didn't even know that there was flying stuff available for Epic. Have to look out of Fleabay for some.

Yep, proper aircraft (the two blue ones and the black one, on the left) and skimmers which are ground units which can 'fly' over terrain, the rest of these on the photo.

Ride of the Valkyries for me!

Aircraft generally aren't essential. They can add an extra dimension to an army, and give you very good reach to attack enemy units, but there are AA defences. Some armies don't get any, and for others they can be very useful.

Skimmers are a component of most armies, and are just another unit, their in game role is to ignore terrain by going over it, and they tend to be quite fast too. They can vary from scouts to heavy tanks. In some armies (Tau or Necrons for example) almost all the units in the army are skimmers.
