Funny enough, on the occasions I've had a drink, its been one bottle of beer max. - and it certainly did enhance the experience! More than one? I'm probably terrified what might happen to my toys if the players get too inebriated (e.g., a nice real ale or red wine wash or just simply pummelled and mashed into the table by an inebriated hand.  :-S )
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I'm not saying our generalship doesn't deteriorate, although our interpretation of rules is the most affected, which is either the curse or the genius of playing TFL rules.

Yeah,  "interpretation" and the effects of booze are a game killer.

Alcohol and gaming don't mix. We used to have issues at the club as the evening wore on and some of the members had had two or three pints. Invariably there was an argument, game abandoned, only to be repeated almost ad infinitum each week

Recommend a good bowl of jelly instead.

Almost the only time I've ever been drunk was on a jelly; I underestimated the effects of the port I'd used to make it, had three helpings, and was legless all evening.

(The other one was the result of the liberal interpretation of a waitress in San Gimignano of my request for a small amaretto.)

I gave up drinking alcohol when I game after I lost an argument with myself during one of my solo games.

My tipple of fancy is tea and I have acquired a taste for leaf tea -preferably Eastern European, no milk or sugar (from the local Polish shop).

Difficult to get at the moment because of the country's issues but Malawi tea is exquisite.

Yeah, alcohol seems okay with "lighter" games; we had  laugh riot with DMH and a bottle of port ;)
