They're Trained Band, i.e. militia, of course they have to be in mufti, their drill is a bit rough as well

Waitangi Day holiday in NZ today.

Got some spare time so started sorting out 300+ figures for 12 highland battalia.

I mainly used figures from Pendraken's 1745 Jacobite range plus some Highland archers from the C16 range since bows were still recorded as being in fairly widespread use in Scotland up to least 1640.

They are all very quick and easy to clean up, just little molding marks on the bottom of the bases to remove to make sure they stand up correctly. Only additional thing I need to do is remove any bayonets from the 100 odd musket armed figures since bayonets were only introduced in the 1680's (plug bayonets were first widely used by the British army at Killiekrankie in 1689).

Assembled more bases for the highlanders.

Sourced some good kapok quilt filler to use for smoke markers from offcuts in Mrs Shy's material stash
