Germany wasn't directly involved in the war, so my natural desire to just grab the rules is not there...

We have a couple of guys who were into reenacting for the period when they were younger.  I'm looking to see if the rules have anything to them before I spend $30 that could be about 4 packs of more minis.

See, that's why I stayed away from historical gaming:  I always get the references backwards!

Well...  just read that review.  I'll probably stay away from these.

American War of Whatever if you're a colonist; American War of Ingratitude if you are not. Fortunately  almost the entire British population got fed up with it and that was that,  now where have I come across that feeling before.

Why would you want base removal? It's almost always unrealistic, units of the period weren't often taking that many casualties as to end up with only 25% men left by the end of the battle. More importantly why do you want to take your carefully painted troops OFF the table?!
I want my enemy to see my elite unit and still be intimidated even with 1 strength point left

As a fantasy player this has always interested me.  When I watch demo games it amazes me that very little, if anything at all, is removed form the board and yet a result is still achieved.

I realise it just a game mechanic but one I'm just not used to.

Just used to it, I guess.  I have FoGN and am not hastening into those rules for this same reason.

Its strange, I have five rule sets for the 18th Century (only 3 of which I use, nowadays) and not one of them has base removal. I can't think of any offhand that have base removal. Anyway, could be missing out on a lot of enjoyable wargaming rules there, greg.
