Day 6 - 24/11 China date - Got email to say that item had been shipped, with tracking number. Good response since website says processing time is 15 days.

First stumbling block, the tracking number is not showing up so probably fake, or waiting to post. Have written to them asking for real tracking number and letting them know that I won't play in Aliexpress' hoops but will go straight for credit card dispute.

Cheers

Remember the Chinese revenge rule of "nine generations". It is your duty to take revenge not only on your wronger, but also on his parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents; as on his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Levenge is dish best served with mincing machine and conveyor belt. (The Confucian Apocrypha, vol vii)

Actually, I'd be far more interested in the massive USS Enterprise in the background.  =P~ =P~ =P~

After a few stern emails with the seller, the package now miraculously shows up as posted - BUT ON 30/11 NOT 24/11 as per original advice.

It's amazing, if you can get a reputation as a good seller in China, the world will beat a path to your door and you can live very well.... Beats me!

Stay with me while I work through this  :).

I demand a map with a dotted line that shows the progress of your package... the 6 missing days would have been interesting..lots of twists and turns and cross overs :)

Sorry, already gone past the 24 hour mark with no movement - no cigar (or cloakroom ticket)

Still going through a security scan (other site shows it as being opened). Yes, hopefully it is going through by air.

I thought most countries did their real checking, on stuff that was coming in....Not stuff going out. (A misconception on my part ?)
Or is China different on that score ?

I've looked it up and China does do this, so it's not unusual. Maybe with an electric motor and wires they want to check it out.

Moving through Indonesia and Malaysia, I've had officials carefully going through and listing all the objects I'm taking out of the country. I think it's more a case of making work for people rather than overly cautious security. It's not unusual for four people to handle and notate a docket for a simple purchase in Asia.

Ever bought a train ticket or changed a traveller's cheque in India? You can live a long and happy life without that experience.

Made the mistake once of using Traveller's cheques in the Philippines. 14 people and 45 minutes to cash them at a bank >:( >:( >:(
