Finished base coating next batch, 2 dismounted cavalry regiments and 2 infantry battalions, all British

Had a look for the photos but not able to find them. Had a go at painting some Germans lat night and very pleased with the results. Tried Miniature Paints 9, Stone Green, but decided it was too light. Then mixed it 50:50 with Vallejo 70904, Dark Blue Grey, which produced a really good result. I used the Dark Blue Grey for trousers on some infantry figures and also used it as the whole uniform for a uhlan and some officers. I then did the senior commander with the Dark Blue Grey for his tunic and Val 943 Grey Blue for his trousers, to try and give the impression of finer quality cloth. I then tried Val 70.917 Beige as a helmet cover, along with 991 Dark Sea Grey, both of which gave a good result. I may well use helmet covers to differentiate between regulars and reservists. All these figures were for 1914. Will probably start a Western Front thread to post photos.

Sorry DP pictures should be up now, I found I couldn't copy the links on my tablet so had to wait till I got home 

I used 920 German Uniform as the base colour and dry brushed with one of 972 Light Green Blue, 905 Blue Grey Pale, or 991 Dark Sea Grey for jacket or trousers to give a varied look.

Helmet covers were 988 Khaki / 884 Stone Grey, 988 Khaki / 847 Dark Sand, 917 Beige / 884 Stone Grey (base / dry brush)

Bottom fleet is Imperial Russian ... and very nicely done!

The ships are those that took part in the action off Gotland in 1915.

German minelaying mission mugged by Russian cruisers as they returned to base.

I'm pretty sure they are all Davco 1/3000 from Skytrex. Peter will correct me if I am wrong.

Peter came up with an intriguing and well balanced scenario based on that battle by tweaking history just a little

Nice German Colmins AAR report Paul.....once those remaining batches are finished we'll attempt Nery.....then Bowler's off to his taliors to get a pith helmet....think a posting to Egypt might be on the cards   might need the sunglasses!

Cut over a hundred bases last night, will sand 40 or so later today

Liked the AAR a lot but was distracted by the boats!

Somewhere in the bomb-site that is my house there are 1:3000 British and German fleets for 1904. I'm now wondering about digging them out and finishing painting them. The butterfly flaps it's wings .....
