Hello

We had two games early war : ( sorry, there are not only pendraken's minis :-[ )
the first one was a regular one, german attacking a bridge, with infantry and some tanks :

The second game was "full tracks" only tanks and Armored cars :

These games are not in our current campaign, as our "referee" wants to keep Force on Force. I like FoF, Coc and Nuts!  I can't play games with 3 rules  :-\    ???   :D

Nice reports.

Particularly interesting game with all armoured forces.

Yes, it was a very different game.

Thank you.

Nice one Ronan.

Lots more tanks in this game than would appear in games we play. Did you use the force lists or just use what you had and balance it that way?

I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

We agreed on "support points" ( I think it was 45 or 48 support points) and picked up  from the lists. I allowed the french to use AMR-35 with a 25mm gun,  instead of the AMR-33 with MG.

No worries

Did it change the game much? Vehicles dont appear much in our games and we are quite enjoying that but have pondered using more support points but dont want to unbalance the game or find infantry becoming redundant?

this was a special scenario, where we wanted to playtest with lots of tanks. So we didn't use any infantry.
In a more "close" terrain, infantry will have a real role.

I think you may try a game with more supports points ( double ?) but agreed before with your opponent, and be sure to use tanks and/or ATG.

the AMR-35 with the 25mm canon did a good job, but the french tanks lacked of crew, as in reality.

I see some red & yellow marks on the back edge of a couple of figures - do those indicate Leaders? I'm using that idea too, plus a ring around the base to keep sections together. This lot aren't all Pendraken, so I didn't post here before - the Leader marks aren't visible, but the Section colours are.

Yes, you're right
yellow for leaders, red for support weapons ( we also use Force on force with our minis). I added green for SMG, and purple  for very special weapons ( molotov cocktails etc. ).
But i have to find another way with Nuts!  may be a second washer under the mini.

I'd like to see your minis "in action" !

I thought of a similar idea, but decided I'd just keep forgetting what was what... I put a small white mark on  anything that's not a rifleman (you have to look at the mini to tell what it is) and two on Leaders. I MIGHT put a yellow mark on all 'crew' in CoC terminology, as they don't fire at all, despite carrying rifles... My Junior Leaders have tin hats, Senior Leaders have caps, but I might use 3 marks for Seniors, I'll see how visible they are. All Leaders will be pointing, either with a pistol or hand (or, in one case, a Swagger Stick...), regardless of what weapon they should be using in CoC. At 10mm scale, recognisability is paramount.

So would I... barring some unpainted test runs, I still have the Germans to paint. I've got the hang of it now, though.

The last game of CoC I played was US Airborne vs Green Germans - the Germans got 16 points of support. But I think took this on too many  different options, so that they really struggled to activate stuff - so couldn't make much use of their extra toys. I do think that the number of command dice cause a natural limit to the amount of stuff that can be command be command by a single player.

Also Elite vs Green is rather one sided - the Airborne were putting out so much firepower (hitting on 3s, re-rolling 1s for Garands) that they Germans were over-run in a handful of phases.

Having an Armour Leader will help - I can't remember if that's in the rules or coming sometime in the future. Allows you to activate a troop (or whatever national equivalent) of tanks at once...
