Hello all,

Just entered this forum after finishing my first 10mm 18th century trial figures. Ordered some civilians & SYW Prussians and gave it a shot. After reading some tips I tried a white base coat (normally I use black) and am rather happy with the result.

Next up will be a Prussians battalion then...

Cheers

Hi Rob!

Looking very nice! Think I have that female figure waiting to paint somewhere. So glad the gentleman didn't fall into the trap of picking an armful of flowers from the lady's garden.

Cheers, Michael

Lovely - I do like that civilian pack, adds a bit of flair to the baggage park  :)

Welcome - now get cracking on the battalion.

Beautiful start Rob and welcome. That pair have often featured as an objective in my Maurice games.

Thank you gentlemen for the warm welcome and the kind words. Very encouraging indeed.

I finally finished my first battalion (I am not worlds' fastest painter!) As battalions go it's rather small, but as I intend to use the Koenig Krieg rules it will do for a Prussian battalion. Lots more to paint before I can even start thinking about playing a game...

Just a small question: can anyone tell me if the flags have been moulded on to the flagpoles across the 18th century range? I had expected an bare flagpole (does take a lot of time painting those flags!!)

Anyway, hope you like my attempt at IR9 Quadt von Wickeradt

cheers

Very Nice! I too started out with my armies based for KK, though later intended to expand the battalions, ultimately selling my collection though.

I think cast flags are standard in the Prussian and French ranges, but there's a separate pack of bare pole standard-bearers available too.

Excellent, Rob, and the flag is very well done. I would recommend the bare-pole figures though. Paper flags are much less hassle as you've probably decided by now.
