I was hoping to finish my HOTT wood elf army, but work takes a lot of my team between travelling aboard and team building. Managed to finish 6 bases of Shooters. Sorry for the over-exposed pic. These figures were the first Pendraken figures I saw and had been dying to paint. The wife helped with basecoating  :D

I actually have another base of Cleric finished. Very cool base with a cleric (high elf mage actually) in front of a pool and between two stone pillars, guarded by 4 wood elf blades on each corner. Sadly no pic. :'(

I hope to finish the others, but feel really busted due to company team building this weekend. Need... more... sleep...............

Very well done, I have a quick question for the group on this issue. I'm new to fantasy having spent 40yrs+ in historical gaming. I have some of the wood elf's fantastic casting but what is a proper color scheme I envision various shade's of green.

capthugeca

That's the joy of fantasy - there is no proper or improper colour.
Green seems an obvious colour but you do them as you fancy.
[I gave up historical wargaming because I got fed up with being told my figures were the wrong green/blue/red, etc]
I defy anyone to tell me that my trolls are the wrong crimson!  :D
Life is too important to be taken seriously.

I'd go with greens and browns - forest colours basically. If you want a challenge you could try cammo pattern cloaks!

Seen some very effective 28mm winter in whites greys and brown and autumn in russets. Otherwise a mix of browns and greens is great.
Think Robin Hood, but remember Lincoln Green is a mistranslation of Lincoln Gris, a shade of red!

Thank You! All that help's alot I'm still looking at this from a historical point of view. Mad Lemmey sorry to hear that I've never pimped anyone about the color's of there uniform's personally.I alway's thought that rude and counter productive to wargaming itself.Again Thank You all if I can be of service don't hesitate to ask.

Sorry Mad Lemming had you confused with Capthugeca no harm ment I was mearly agreeing with him have run into same thing in my own gaming group .I guess I'm not as pure a gamer as other's in my group I tend to look at the effort put into a figure or group of figure's rather than nit pick accurate color's. Again my apologies I meant to offend no one I really like this forum and it's member's they been very kind to me with the freedom with which they are willing to help and exchange information. Thank You again and have a great night.

Hey no worries Rougue,
I was just worried I had accidentally upset you.
I agree, often this place is silly but the advice is normally good. It works on a payback system, I ask questions in the Nineteenth Century threads, I pay back answers in ancients.
All good.
