And when looking at other manufacturers you get the same or better quality, the same fun and pay half the price or less.

A friend of mine worked for them in a consultancy role some years back. After he left he told me a few horror stories. I've bought a few of their paints, which are nice enough. Won't buy anything else.

I'm not going to say anything on a public forum which might attract legal action - although you could ask the Evil Empire how much they spent on Chris Foss' "Goldfish."  ;)

Its not just GW,
Warmachine stuff actually out price GW stuff,
It shocked me as i was always told GW is the market leader in price!

That would be 10 for £40 then..........

petercooman

True, but i always thought you don't need near as much to play a game so that balances out.

Privateer Press actually is more expensive than GW but alas, Pendraken is more affordable which si why I own more than just half an army as most GW players...  :D

GordonY

Do what I did with mine then, paint it, download a copy of Stargrunt II (its FREE from Ground Zero Games) and play that instead of Warhamster Farty Kay.

I own 4 complete armies from gw, what do you mean  ???

Although one of them is old enough to be unrecognisable to 3/4 th of their playerbase  ;D ;D

I did the sensible thing with my stuff, bought almost everything on ebay (only when the price was right) or on discount. I am however not that kind of player who wants the new and the best arly, and so just continuesly added to my armies instead of wandering of and buying others.

There is no way i'm going back to them though, i'll stick with 10 mm now. The price of the gw models has almost tripled since i ought any  :o

Only time I was ever challenged on the "legality" of a figure for a GW competition (GW figures only, in theory) was my use of a figure which we established had been produced by GW before the member of staff querying it had been born :)

I'll have to do some checking..but I believe a '25' mm Citadel figure was something like 14 pence when I first started buying them.

Now that's funny....but makes me feel even older....Which isn't funny. :'( :'( :'( ;)

Friend of mine brought his "Rogue Trader" Space Marines 8First Edition GW) and was kicked out of the store.
Asked why on their FB site and was blocked.  :-q

Ithoriel

One company of my Epic 40K Imperial fists Space Marine Chapter (yes I have had a whole chapter it was just in 6mm rather than 28mm and cost considerably less than seven grand!) was made up entirely of metal Adeptus Titanicus era marines rather than the then current plastic ones. Leading to:

GW Staff Member: "Those are neat, who makes them?"

Me: "You do"

GW Staff Member: "What?"

Me: "They're old GW figures"

<pause>

GW Staff Member: "I hope I'm still playing when I'm as old as you!"

Damned with faint praise that time if ever I was :)
