Below are a couple pics from the past weekend.  One is the terrain I am woirking on for the Battle of Nachod.  I am using Brue Weigle's 1866 rule book for maps and OB's. We play Fire and Fury so I will be using Bill Grays rules for this period also.

Just need to finish up the river, streams, and put together a ton of buildings.  The other is a quick shot with some Prussian Cavalry and a 6mm paper building.  I will post more when done. and hopefully a battle report when we have the game next month.

Nice work, tschuma. I particularly like the trees.  8)

Tschuma,

Really looking forward to this!   Terrain looks good, and I will be fascinated to see how Bill Gray's Age of Valor rules cope with this battle. Have played it twice with our own home grown adaptation of RF&F, and it is a fascinating battle.  Thanks for sharing.

The carpenters, stone masons, and platers had a busy weekend in northern Austria:

Game is set for 24-Aug, so I should have a few more pics with troops on the table and then a AAR.

Looking great! Out of interest where are you in Northern Austria? We have friends in Linz and hope to visit again next year.

The Battle of Nachod 1866 took place in northern Austria. So considering I did not have any terrain 2 weeks ago, I have been busy. I think I put together 40+ paper buildings over the weekend.

I am actually located north of Cincinnati, OH USA.

Sorry for the confusion

PS Google Earth is a great tool too.

Actually Schuma, the Battle of Nachod took place in Northern Bohemia, which is the modern day Czech Republic. And it is an absolutely gorgeous place to visit - wonderful, friendly, welcoming, people.  Fantastic beer, good food, excellent hotels, and great value for money.  Everyone should go - it is a truly great experience.

Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

ok, rivers and streams filled in, still need to put some bushes down and trees around the houses, but that can wait.  My questions is do I need a few more houses?  I think it looks great and I might add a few more.  2 weeks away and I feel better about the terrain and the troops.  just need to finish up the write up, create the labels and some cards we are trying out.

The boards are 32" wide and 72 inch long.  What I like about this is I can transport in my SUV with no problem.  I need to make 4 more boards and I will have the battles of Nachod, Skalitz and Wiesenthal.  6 feet wide by 16 feet long.

Now for those who asked for shots with troops on the table

Looking good!  Not sure on the buildings, maybe a couple more to thicken up some of the villages, but not too many?  It's gonna look cool when the troops get on there!

For what its worth, punch me if you want, I'd put a dulling wash on the buildings and I'd bin the teddy bear fur, its a really lovely board, the fur ... well, maybe not (why not singe it slightly with a hot air stripper and do a little bit of overspray?
like I said, feel free to punch me  :D
