Nope, I never have the same items in different scales 

I have WW2 in 10mm, 15mm and 28mm. I have Ancients in 15mm and 25mm. But very few specific armies are duplicated.

I stick to one scale per period in general.

My WW2 stuff is all 20mm. Handy as I've loads of it and it's pretty cheap to buy at present. Plus the rise in the popularity of Bolt Action means I can use slightly smaller scale without resorting to spending £££'s on the 28mm Warlord stuff (as nice as it is).

I don't have the same armies in different scales, as I'm often explaining at home I just have SIMILAR armies in different scales!

I have 19th century Austrians in 6mm and 15mm, but the 6mm are for the 1859 Italian War and the 15mm ones are for the 1866 Austro-Prussian War.
I have Late Romans in 10mm and 28mm, but the 10mm are for the late-Empire 4th - 5th century and the 28mm are for post-Empire 5th-6th century.
I have WW2 in 10mm, 15mm and 20mm, but the 20mm are Eastern Front, the 15mm are Burma and the 10mm are France 1940, Libya 1941 and Italy 1944.

All different! 

Hmmm maybe that's a nice idea, i could try reasoning to SWMBO with that argument

Yes 6mm = Half-pint 10mm
15mm  = Big 10mm
20mm = Bigger 10mm
25/28mm = Very big 10mm

OK, got me confused for a moment   

I started with 6mm for WWII, attempted 2-3mm, now starting in 10mm...

I do, however, have some T-35 tanks in 2mm, 1/600, 6mm, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm & 1/35 scales (OK, only 1 at 1/35, and it's unbuilt...)

Okay, my Ancient Britiish are in 15mm and 25/28mm  my 100 YW English are 25/28mm, 10mm and 15mm  English civil war are 15 and 28mm.  Napolionic French in 15mm and 25/28mm, The ACW confederates are 15mm and 25mm and 28mm thinking about 10mm as well. Now 20th century ww2 British and German in 6mm, 10mm,(and 1/200tn) 15mm, 20mm, 28mm and 54mm. Japanese in 10mm and 54mm. Cold war Brits in 1/200th and 6mm same for the Russians. That's what i can remember off hand Fantasy and sci-fi are in 15mm and 25/28mm but they are for different style games.the differing scales tend to be set up for different rule sets and the actual force sizes can vary a lot. I don't think this range of scales is unusual in wargaming circles if you've been around a while. There were others but they have been sold/given away on so i only have an army in 1 scale now.  Come on i am not that strange!

Over the years I have managed to replace armies more than once, not only in different scales but even within the same scale!

I am forever on the same journey that travels between Napoleonics - ECW / 30YW - WW2.

Napoleonics - 1/72nd French and British (given away) replaced with 25mm metal Russians and French (now in the attic) replaced with 15mm French and Bavarians now being replaced with Pendraken French and Austrian. 

ECW / 30YW - 25mm Royalist / Imperialist army (now in the attic) replaced with 15mm 30yw Imperialist / Spanish. This one is worrying as I am currently reading a Pallas Armata publication by H.M. Hozier on Turrenne and his many, many battle during the late 30yw, the French civil wars and the wars with the Dutch. This is a much neglected perod in this country, probably as there was little British ionvolvement until king Willies wars. Clibs LofA ( ) range combined with the ECW range would fit very nicely. 

WW2 - 1/72nd (given away)and replaced with 1/300th ww2 and modern (given away) replaced with 1/200th (given away) replaced with 10mm/12mm/ 1/144 and now supplemented with 28mm!

Additionally I have occasional forays into 7yw and ACW, and every few years a real shift into ancients which replaces everything else until it blows over.

Currently in this cycle I am building Napoleonics and can see the process will never end. I'm doomed to eternal enjoyment
