So close !!!

You must have moved the cursor one character, as you need to paste the http:// bit in between the ][ of the img][/img tags.

But seeing the photos it was worth the effort!

They look really nice - I particularly like the skirmish warbases base, with the dispersed groups. Might have to give that a go as I have a couple of those bases lying around.

No, it won't work. However ther was a message telling me I needed to upgrade my media olayer by installing Genieo. When I started this it then said I could not complete unless I made Genieo my default search engine, which I am not prepared to do, I guess this could mean the end of me and photobucket. Maybe I should go back to Flickr.

Don't think the media player thing is connected.

Looking at what you have entered, you have managed to delete the [ that closes the [/img] tag

Once you have clicked the insert photo button on this forum, don't click anything else, or type anything, just go to the Edit Menu, and choose Paste. Or use the keyboard short cut Cmd C - this should paste into exactly the right place.

Yep, that was all that was missing from the post, so I've edited it now.

There we go everyone. After a couple of weeks it's been solved - click on direct then back to Pendraken. Click on paste then insert the [ in the correct place and bingo! Thanks for everybody's patience, help and goodwill on this. Now all I have to do is remember (until Photobucket bugger it all up again to make it even better [more complex] ). :d

This is the start of the British militia units using mainly Late Roman Militia but with some unarmoured infantry thrown into the mix. I have also used an unarmoured general figure as the unit commander. I am working on the assumption that the militia would contain men from all social classes, hence the range of colours, the commander possibly being a local notable.

Now dont get all excited and post everything at once. Save some for later!
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

Leman

Fear not. I'll complete the militia before anything else goes on (although I may start a RCW photo thread). It does give one a wonderful sense of freedom though (now where's that Mel Gibson Scottish figure?).

Here are examples of the three militia units for the Romano-Britons. Each unit has its own shield design mainly for wargames identification. Historically I think individual soldiers turned up with their own shield design. For these troops it's the dress that varies and the distinct lack of armour which marks them out as militia.
