Anyone know where I might find some decent solo player rules for AWI or something of that sort of period which could fit?

Black Powder works fine for solo games. There is also a warmaster variant called Tea for Two, that is free. I don,t have the link to hand at present though. Hope this helps?

Cheers Steve, will look tea for two up, didn't realise BP was solo friendly, might have to give in and get a copy in the future.

I'll chime in with Peter Pigs "Washington's Army" rules, definitly solo friendly (and cheap), but I found that the British bayonet charge a little to easy to pull off and a little too devastating for my liking.

haven't solo played this period yet - though i have got muskets and tomahawks and a load of 15mm PP figs.

when i do i'll probably give Programmed Wargames Scenarios by C.S. Grant a shot - i've found these to be fun to use in the past, and, yes, games do run to a sort-of pre-planned schedule/plan, but with the various methods of unpredictable incidents and differing enemy options that the book provides [along with quite a good few scenarios], there is plenty of re-play value to the book, in my opinion.
