2012 was the year I finally hit the jackpot and convinced the wife that something wargames related was far more preferable a present to receive than clothes/vouchers/aftershave/magazine subscription :-bd

My birthdays just around the corner and guess what she asked me today :-SS What I would like, "something wargamey perhaps?" was her suggestion.  :-bd :-bd

I feel quite chuffed that its only taken 17 years of pestering to reach this pivotal point in our relationship. :)

My only dilemma now is I actually don't know what to ask for :-[ :o :-[
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

If you can't decide on anything right away, we could always sort out some kind of voucher for you to redeem in the future?  Not as much fun as having something on the day though...  :D

It's always a good thing when the Wife finally figures that one out. Mine did a few years ago and God bless her.
She always give me a little note with a  " good for $$$ worth of miniatures"......Love it  :D

It was my birthday yesterday. I left for work before anyone else got up, and when I got home, I found this book. Apparently it was inspired by my "A Tank by Any Other Name" blog post.

You lot worry me you know...

As much as I *love* Leon, the thought of him popping out of a cake is rather disturbing... X_X

Nosher,

Your timing couldnt have been better. My birthday is in 10 days, so I took the opportunity to read your post our to my wife (subtlety was never my strong point)

Unfortunately like most wargaming related stuff i drivel on about i dont think it sunk in with her as i was met with the equivelent of "thats nice dear"

Will try again later, SWMBO did once organise my son to buy some FOW for me, so i know she has it in her :-)

Cheers

I simply buy what I want and then pass it over to SWMBO for the kids to wrap :). Problem solved. Not as nice as a real suprise I must admit but my family would have no idea what to buy me, so this route works fine. When Leon and Dave come up with vouchers then that will work nicely :D.

They already have - they have the Queen's head printed on them.  :D

I tend to just bookmark whatever it is and then stick it at the start of the bookmarks list, then when 'her indoors' asks I just tell her that it'll be one of the 1st 4 or 5 bookmarked sites. That way its always a gamble (or a surprise) what I actually get.
