"Ditto, Luddite, ditto...I got "Empire of the Dead" and it's just not doing it for me really"

Really Nik, I'm glad then that I didnt buy into that one, I've got their Secrets of the Third Reich rules and they were fun the few times we've ran them out. Found that the way to go with the Soviets was to max out the number of RPG teams in your Survivor platoon, as any hit with one of those bad boys its a auto-dead result, which is kind of essential when there's squads of Werewolves bearing down on you.

Yep - don't get me wrong: it's a lovely hardback book with some great photos & artwork...the concept is fine, the fluff is fine, the rules are ok...but it just left me feeling that it had been 'underdone' - not enough steampunkiness for me really...and the campaign rules don't seem as smooth / rounded as Mordheim or any of the Legends series - they feel a bit like a poorer copy really.

They are nice enough - but they're not getting much play here and I'll definitely be picking up the Osprey (watching that nice Nickstarter from North Star at the moment...). I do like the Westwind figures though (most of them, some of them are 'meh'), and the new ones from North Star are looking luvverly.

Of course, I am trying to swear off 28mm  :-[
