I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

Don't think it's down to the teachers Lemmey.
If that's the way you're all told to teach nowadays, that's the way it has to be done.....
To an old numpty like me, some of the subjects in the modern curriculum seem very strange in the way they're set out.
Also seems that successive governments just have to show that the standard of education continues to get better and better under their particular rule.

Don't believe that helps the teachers or the youngsters in the slightest.
Just a very personal opinion....Or am I just being a cynical old sod again ?

Cheers - Phil.

Very true ;) and successive governments have piled on this additional pressure without once considering its impact on the youngsters its being piled on.

And if thats not bad enough youngsters that fall off the tracks under this government barely get any help from youth organisations because funding for careers advice, youth workers and the voluntary and community sector has been slashed to non-existence.

As for old and cynical???? I think you've earned the right!

Is that why there is so little relevant punctuation on this thread? Learning begins with the will to get it right, folks, as I think Mr Gates would agree.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

No, FK, in this country it's down to a recent phase in education when the powers that be decided in their wisdom that "expressing oneself", however badly, was more important than spelling or punctuation. Personally, I don't believe it's possible to express oneself without spelling or puctuation.
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Sorry Lemmy, no offence ment, i was referring to my old masters of the cane and slipper when the schools had more say in what happened.  I take my hat off to anyone who takes up teaching.

Don't buy your daughters a pony, buy them heroin instead, its cheaper and ultimately less addictive.

Little known fact, teachers wages are pro rata, if we were paid for the full year we would bankrupt the nation...

And if Learning Assistants and Nursery Nurses were paid what they deserve, they would actually earn ...

A Living wage!
