Following on from my "starting the war of 1866" topic ( http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,6071.0.html ) my group and I placed an order which we collected at Warfare in November. As only two of us paint, I was given the Prussians to do while my mate has the Austrians. Finally, this morning, I finished the last of the figures...

The overall force (still need to buy another brigade of infantry).

The Kaiser!

Cavalry Brigade

Corps artillery and light cavalry regiment

Now to start on the Timecast buildings!

Duke Speedy of Leighton

Beautiful painting Charon.  The King on the command stand is a triumph!  :o =D> =D> You really do justice to the figures, and I love the basing as well.   But, in Colombo style, one last question........... You seem to have painted the charging Cuirassier figure as Dragoons, do you not like the dragoon figure?

I wanted variety?   :-S

Actually thought I'd ordered Dragoons, but must have actually ordered Cuirassiers! Well spotted! Hopefully it shouldn't matter too much? Oh and should be King, not Kaiser!

mollinary

I wouldn't think it matters at all. They look great, and it was only because I know this range like the back of my hand that I asked the question!  Will you be going for a full corps eventually, with the Jagers and 12pdr?

By the way, will we be seeing you at SALUTE?

The eventual aim is a corps, with Jager btn. I was going to head up to Salute, but was made redundant a couple of weeks ago  =) so I'm not sure if I'll make it now - all depends what happens on the job front really!

mollinary

Really sorry to hear that,  I hope you manage to get something sorted soon. If you do manage to get to SALUTE, do call in at The Continental Wars Society demonstration game and say hello, we 1866ers need to stick together.

Charon,

Just had another closer look at these...... Are those infantry flags hand painted?   If so, wow, respect!   I have to go for printed paper, I just cannot do this sort of thing any more.

Do I count, I'm 19th Century but not really 1866, only one corps of Saxons...!  ;)

Thanks Bernie, they're based for the "Trapped like a Fox" rules - you might have heard of them  ;)
