Need help, my head hurts!

Whats the probability of rolling any double if using 2 dice?

What about the probability of rolling either double 1 or double 6, on 2 dice?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

Craig

I need to clarify what you mean.
To roll double 1 the probability is 1/36
To roll double 6 the probability is 1/36 again
To roll either double 1 OR double 6 on the same throw - the probability is 1/18 (2/36)

All assuming d6 of course  ;)

On the other hand, NEVER play the odds. If there's a one in a hundred chance that a particular set of rolls can wreck an exceptionally intelligent and well-executed plan, it'll come up seven times out of five. I speak from bitter and repeated personal experience. :'(

I'm the opposite.....

Four rolls with 2 X D10.
3 came up 00 = 100
1 came up 99 = 99.

Didn't 'arf do some damage. ;)....You don't forget things like that. ;D ;D ;D
Told you I was lucky !!

However, the odds of rolling a one in a d6 increase to 1 (probability being measured in fractions) immediately when the phrase 'you need anything but a 1!' is uttered.
My wife got so sick of hearing of my ones she found a dice that went 2-7!!!  8)

You should play Sunjester - It would be the first battle in history both sides would claim a pyrric victory, as both sides fight to the last man simultaneously.
