A mate of mine said  today "hay man, saw this on Kickstarted. I've already put £50 in, it's finished but you can order them still"

I replied, "soz mate already have way too many projects"

So he said "no problem, here's some pics..." handed me his IPhone "... Nice aint they, I've for £50 inn"

As soon as I saw them I was jealous that he was getting something I wasn't (I'm the youngest sibling of 2). It appears to be a WW3 style game. Allies (west) Vr Russia in a star ship troupers style future, in 15mm. My jealousy took over...

"Let's add £25 ill chip I. £37.50 and half the lot!"

I'm sure you might think the same! So have a look!

I love the RUSKs in the gas masks, they are on my list for a new 15mm terrorist/super villian army I have in mind, and the Neo brits are going to make good planetary defense forces for my alien invasion games.
I missed the KS as I was pretty skint, but I still plan on getting them as they are great figs!

The British/US (I note you said British, I reckon you ain't American?) remind me of Star Ship troopers. There was a SST game but the models were Pre painted and I wasn't keen. But if you had some bugs at 15mm!

Rules wise FUBAR or FOR? I was also thinking secrets of the third reich?

15mm though.  Not Pendraken's 10mm loveliness...

I don't get the point of having such nice and detailed Concept art and crappy-crap sculpts like these. :-\

They can't be that bad, he did manage to get fully funded on his kickstarter.....

Yeah but that's no indication of quality.

They do look pretty ropey.  Definitely at the 'budget' end of the market in terms of quality i'd say.

There are some really excellent 15mm figures out there at the moment.

The detail Is a little bit on the 'soft' side....and some of the proportions seem a tad strange, perhaps.
As Lud indicates there are quite a few classier models to choose from in this scale....But also, as Win says, they got funded, so there must be enough folk out there who DO like them.

Depends on what the firm paid for them, I guess.

I'm not a fan of the 'Armies Army' style of sculpting either, would have been great in the '80s, but the bar has raised, just as it has in 10mm.

The links barbarian provided are the current bench mark, great sculpts (especially Khurasan) and a treat to paint.

Cheers,

Kev

Phobos

Not bad, but I got an irrational hate to 15mm...

I did too until I pikced up some Splintered Light fantasy figures for my son. Now I am broke!

I think what you have to take into account is the keith is just starting the whole process of getting his lines together and sculpting. Yes the standards of 15mm are higher than before these days, but given time for his lines and skills to develop, he'll do fine.  ;)
I'm sure that even he would agree that they could be better, but as a new mini concern, he's not done too bad so far.
I think what is important to remember is that we should support the small independent miniature companies, after all they always have been the backbone of the hobby for years, and even so you might not like what they do, they need the wargaming community to get behind them, not at them. :-\
Sure some of Khurasans stuff is top notch, but some is dire (Cheri Amour for example, and the "yorkshire" survivors in the werewolf set) too many people kiss Mr k's arse IMHO, and I find his endless touting for business on PMT tiresome. He has some great sculpts it's true, but he can afford to get the best sculpts,  Armies Army is just one guy starting out....

I don't know mate.

My main pulsion to buy miniatures is often (if not always) the "beauty" of the miniature.
This is why I have stuff that I won't use, but couldn't resist to buy. I do Moderns in 28mm, I have an army for War of the Ring (yes, the one from GW), I have an army from Rackham' mass game, Ragnarock (RIP), plus 150+ zombies in 28mm. I could have done all this in 15mm.
I have a Late Roman army by Clib', only because of the miniatures.
Nothing to do with a ruleset, little to do with a period.
I think we all are a little like this (at various levels), otherwise we would play with tokens or wood cubes.

I think he found someone (maybe he did it himself, I don't know him) to draw beautiful concepts. Why not looking for a talented sculptor ?

Beautiful miniatures will always sell.

Sorry love the concept art but the miniatures dont impress me at all, the proportions arent right.

I admire the guy for having a go and he can sculpt better than me but i want be collecting them

Cheers,

Craig
