Sadly I'm not part of a Wargaming Club (Billy No-mates me :-[) and most of my wargaming is solo.

Is there a consensus for a board relating to solo gaming for those of us who are resstricted to paying with ourselves... ooeer Missus!
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I play with myself all the time - it's a rarity that I get to play with anyone else...

playing solo has its advantages - you cant lose :)

Never argue with an idiot; He'll drag you down to his level and beat you by experience.

Dont worry. I dont have webbed hands and webbed feet (or a pointy head for that matter)!

A bit awkward to get to Bristol from there Nosher. Luckily for me Bristol has quite a few long standing wargames clubs, so I can normally get a game. I'd like to game solo at home but a lack of space and time pretty much rule this out. What time I do have tends to go towards painting the minis.

YORSTONS

I agree with Nosher, i think there could be a demand for a solo players thread.

I play with myself all the time, but dont tell the wife!!

I have a project on the go now directly targeted at solo gamers.

Look out for it in Q4 2010.  ;)

The thing about solo wargaming is to make sure you don't look when your opponent is setting up.

Some advantages of being a soloist:

1. Don't have to deal with rules lawyers.
2. Don't have to deal with rivet counters.
3. Don't generally have to deal with anoraks of any shape or distinction.
4. Don't have to keep repeating to opponent e.g., 'No, Gandalf and Boromir were not on Harold's side at Hastings'.  (Insert as appropriate for favourite periods)

Any more anyone? ::)
