My natural impatience has triumphed again and I've come up with a conversion for the Japanese 47mm anti-tank gun M41. Starting point is the comparable Italian 47mm AT gun, which comes without a splinter shield. Conversion simply consists of adding the distinctive wedge-shaped Japanese splinter shield, the Japanese kneeling crew and a suitable paint-job. Not ideal but good enough for the time being.

For the purists: the track (i.e. the distance between the wheels) is shorter than the Japanese weapon and the splinter shield therefore does not sit down between the wheels as it ought. Other than that it makes a neat little model.

Oh, and the last time I posted pictures of a Japanese conversion the model mysteriously appeared in the catalogue a couple of weeks later. Fingers crossed, you never know...  :)

When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.
