The problem for RBS is that the system dates back to the seventies. After that amount of time they have problems keeping the steam pressure up.  :D
When you realise we're all mad, life makes a lot more sense.

Come on Ray !
Please....Try and keep up with modern teknoligy....tecknolllogee.....erm....stuff !

You know full well that either the elastic bands have broken....Or the string has started to fray ? ;D ;D ;D

Phil - stop pinching my yokes - I did have a mainframe crash cause the elastic band broke - the one driving the teletype - for those old enough the sort of thing the Beeb used to use on grandstand to show the football results.

Sorry Ian...You're talking to someone who used to work for (what became) 'BT',  in the dim and distant past....When rubber bands and string were  the cutting edge of technology (says he making just a teeny weeny exaggeration...ahem !)
The old days of Grandstand ?.....Happy days !...Wonderful...  ;D ;D ;D

Cheers - Phil

Yup....

Sad how I used to enjoy watching the footy results come in on the teleprinter (?)....
But there was also Uncle Eddie Waring with the rugby league....Lots of people going round VERY muddy tracks on trails (?) bikes.....erm....Oh b*gger ...Was that really it ?.....maybe you're right ! ;D ;D ;D
Don't remember the foreign art films.....But you did have to get up and manually switch the channels over by physically turning a 'knob' on the TV.
Youngsters nowadays.....Don't know how easy they've got it....PAH !!! ;D ;D
Cheers - Phil.

On Radio 4 today they mentioned that all the other major high street banks are in exactly the same position as RBS, it's just that RBS was the one that broke first :o.

Does it surprise you?

Money is not invested but paid out as bonusses and dividends (mark : not salary for the line slime).

Tells you a guy that left banking in 2002 - Things did not get better since then.
