In any communication with Pendraken I have found their staff unfailingly helpful, and able to supply what I want, even if I wasn't sure.

We are constantly told the British don't do customer service, so I can only assume you are foreign.

Yes, Aart, but you have to try really hard to be a foreigner in your own country. 

The North or Up North in England is is defined by Wikipedia of anything north of the River Trent and south of the Scottish border (Where they really are foreign, paint their bodies blue and hunt haggis  )  However we all know how inaccurate Wikipedia can be.

All Southerners know that the north really begins at Watford Gap services on the M1. As you go further north of this the people speak with more and more distinct funny accents.  (Of course my East London twang is "proppa english an not an accent "  )   This can be proved by the following list of Northerners.

eg = Brirmingham -Jasper Carrot
Liverpool - Cilla Black
Newcastle - Cheryl Cole, although in her case I could think of a very good way to keep her quiet 

They also aquire stranger pastimes - talking of Whippets, Pidgeons and Ferrets and keeping them in strange places within thier clothing.   Their clothing too gets stranger with flat caps, and men wearing Kilts etc. It also rains more the further north you go.

The up side of going north is the beer in general gets cheaper and better the further north you go until you get to Yorkshire where it starts to decline ( a yorkshireman told me this - thats why he drinks lager so the beer must be very very bad )  Should any Yorkshireman wish to disprove this I can supply my address if you should wish to post a bottle or two 

You also get a higher proportion of Redheads - Good in Niks case - Bad in Noshers, so this is a matter of preference.

As for south of the Thames the map should be white with "There be dragons" written on it.

I will now go and take refuge in my castle ( Pele tower to any Northerners reading this ) and await the onslaught

I'm keeping well out of this.....
Apart from the fact that I'd say....It's not necessarily going North that means more rain.....It also depends how far West you go.

Personally I LOVE all the different accents we've got in the British Isles....Apart from ONE...And I'm not going to insult anyone by letting you know what it is !!

I was just trying to help those on the forum not native to this country to understand why we see being Up North as sort of foriegn - obviously in a tounge in cheek way.  (Otherwise Leon might really screw up my next order)
