Arthurian skirmishes using SBH (Song of Arthur and Merlin)

I'm toying with the idea of painting up some 10mm figures for Song of Arthur and Merlin by Ganesha Games.

I thought I could start with:

Arthurian personalities ---> http://www.pendraken.co.uk/ARL18-p2707/ for both Romano-Brit and Saxon peronalities.
Roman militia ---> http://www.pendraken.co.uk/ARL10-p2699/ for Romano-Brit rank and file (how many poses in the pack?)
Roman arcoured cav ---> http://www.pendraken.co.uk/ARL13-p2702/ for a mounted warband (poses?)
Anglo-Saxon Militia ---> [url]vhttp://www.pendraken.co.uk/ARL16-p2705//url] for Saxon rank and file (how many poses in the pack?)

Anyone have any better ideas? How would you do Picts or Irish?

Cheers,

Nic

Sounds like a great idea. I also used http://www.pendraken.co.uk/ARL2-p2691/ armoured spearmen for Romano-British armoured infantry in my Warmaster Arthurian army.

Arl 16 is 3.5 poses (there are 3 distinct poses with two hair variants on one of them)

Arl 10 is similar

My cavalry is now mixed up in units but I think it is 3 poses per pack.

If you just want a few of each poses for skirmishes then its always worth asking as Leon is pretty good at putting together bespoke packs

A couple of suggestions

Arthurian knights: ARL20 Cataphracts with Kontos

Figures in the Medieval range that might do double duty as upper class Irish warriors
ELM12 Irish Bonnacts (with spear, not the axe armed figures)
ELM13 Irish Kern
ELM20 Irish Horse

AS4 Anglo-Saxon Great Fyrd are also good all rounders to mix in with your Roman militia

I'm not sure about what to use as Picts as they were quite distinctive.
Have you seen the rivets on that?

HHmmmmm Leon, is this true? Are the lads at Pendraken really such gentlemen that they would put together a custom 'skirmish' pack?

They are top chaps. I've had a few packs of 10 mixed figures for use with the dungeon set.

But once you see the Late Roman figs by Clib you will need an army of them.  ;)

Next pay packet will allow me to justify such a small purchase to the wife/boss!  ;)

This project is finally progressing.... it just requires me to be in the same country as my figures and paints now. I will post updates when something further happens.

That sneaky geography - always conspiring against you... :D

Ah ha! Yes, but now I am in the right country - and so are the paints.

A quick note of praise for HM's Royal Mail. Leon dropped me a note to say he posted the paints on the 2nd of May. Today, on the Third, they had already reached Belfast! Back in Australia, it'd take at least three days to receive post sent from the same suburb...

Lovely figures by the way. Just lovely.
