.... run in the blinkin' Marathon.

I was pestering the boys at Pendraken for some sponsorship, (as I work at home I don't have any co-workers I can annoy for that purpose) and Leon very kindly suggested that I post here to the same effect. I would have thought that a bit cheeky to ask for to the extent that I didn't even consider asking, but Leon has decided to grant me a special dispensation.

I'm running a leg of the Belfast Marathon as part of a team (the whole thing would kill me as surely as it did Philippides), so its no great feat of fitness, but it is for a good cause; Friends of the Cancer Centre
http://www.friendsofthecancercentre.com/
I'm running in one of two teams, drawn from the Taekwondo club I train at. One of our members was diagnosed with cancer this year so we thought it would be a useful thing to do.

I know things are tight all round these days, but if you can spare it please consider a donation, of whatever size, anything would be appreciated. If you do donate, please indicate that your a friend of Pendraken so I know who to thank (of course if you'd rather remain anonymous or indicate who you are here that's fine too).

Thanks in advance!  :)

Hey! I'm part of a Taekwondo group too.  :D
What rank are you? Me: 1st dan.

I'll consider making a small donation.
I will stand, or I will fall. But I will not sit.

Which leg are you running?...I can come and cheer you on  if you want?
If I were creating Pendraken I wouldn't mess about with Romans and  Mongols  I would have started with Centurions , eight o'clock, Day One!

My school (Trinity) used to be part of the USTF, which collaborated with the ITF. However, recently, because of some very poorly made desicions in the USTF, our instructor (8th dan) decided to quit. Then, he founded a new organization, the RMTA: Rocky Mountain TKD alliance. Are you testing for your first dan anytime soon?

I must apologise to everyone who donated money; I didn't come back here to thank all those who gave, it just went out of my head in the days following the run.
All donations were greatly appreciated.

Sadly our friend, Maurice, died yesterday night. He was only 40. He fought all the way to the end. We had  thought he was doing well, and we were shocked to hear of his admission to Hospice care a few weeks ago. He'll be missed.

Leon

I'm sorry to hear that, my condolences to you and everyone at the club as well.
