Here are the three battalions of the 18th Line regiment, French Army, Wagram, 1809 deployed in mixed order.  I am amazed at the color of the French troops.  It isn't just the blue coat and white trousers but the various pompoms, cords, plumes, epaulettes, lapels, cuffs, etc.  And each company and each officer seems to have their own color combinations.  Reminds me of a cool Mardi Gras parade.
