Hi all,

I've just got Lasalle & I'm planning to start with Austrians using Pendraken 10mm figures. I intend to use 40mm wide bases & was wondering how many figures on a base people would recommend so I can order the right amount of figures.

Thanks,
Ferb

I would use the same basing convention as for 15mm outlined in the rules.

Works for me, although i will be using FoG rules whn they get relased next month
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

40mm x 20mm with 8 figures looks about right for infantry, well it looks ok with my Austrians.

Cool 8 figures to a base it is :-)

Thanks for the replies.

Yep. we use 6 per base for standard line and 8 for grenadiers or guards and you could fit 10 per for the Grenadiers or Guards. It all looks very very cool. We use 2 arty + crew on 40x40 and that is way cool looking  :D

Thanks for the arty tip I'll have to give that a try and see how it looks  :)

Just some visual reference from my own 10mm Lasalle project.  Here are 2 4-base units of French Line using Pendraken figs on 1" (25mm) x 3/4" bases in 2 ranks of 4 figures.  So, 32 figs per unit.  The gun is mounted on a 1 1/4" square.

And here is a 6-base unit of Austrian line using a mix of Pendraken and Old Glory, again in 2 ranks of 4, or 48 figs in the unit.

If you were using a 40mmx40mm base for infantry, I'd be tempted to use 3 ranks of 6 figs for Austrians.

40 mm x 20 mm with 8 figs for line inf. or grenadiers, 5 figs for light infantry, 40 mm x 40 mm for artillery with 2 guns + crew, 40 mm x 30 mm for cavalry with 5 figures per base

Thanks for the pics, some great inspiration for me to get mine done. All I need now is for my figures to arrive. :)

Is the French artillery from the pendraken line or Old Glory?

Thought Id just add a plus for the 40mm x 20mm with 8 figures, I do mine 20mm x 20mm with 4 for infantry so its nearly the same thing  :) and great pictures guys, itching to get home and paint now.
