Is it me, or is the first Han Solo using a modified Mauser ?

Cheers - Phil.

Which is what Solo's gun is in the films, whilst the Stormtroopers used modified Stirlings!

Yep, Han Solo used a modified Mauser C96 as a DL-44 'heavy blaster pistol'.

The Stormtrooper stock blasters (E-11 blaster rifles) were modified Sterling L2A3's.

Also the L2A3 formed the bases of the DH-17 blasters used by the Rebels defending the Tantive 4 starship at the start of A New Hope.

The Imperial light support weapons (DLT-19 heavy blaster rifles) were based on the MG34.

Their main support weapon (TL21 light repeating blaster) seen on Tatooine quite a bit, was a Lewis gun.

The Rebels on Hoth used BlasTech A295 blaster rifles which were based on the German WWII Sturmgewehr 44, although in Jedi when using them on Endor, they were cobbled together from Colt M-16s and AR-15s...

Princess Leia's gun in A New Hope is a 'sporting blaster' based on the Margolin .22 MTs target pistol.

Um...hang on...i've strayed off topic.

Here's a picture of a whole mess of gold bikini, pillow fight lovliness to get back on track...
