Hello everybody!
I would like to request limbers and caissons for the French guard for 1870. I know it has already been requested by other members but it doesn't seem to have produced any effect so I refresh the topic.

Good for you!   It is the single most glaring gap in my French army.

As I am just redoing my Guard Corps with thew 1870 French Guard figures to replace my very aged Wargames South ones then any limbers or caissons would be greatly appreciated

How do they differ from bog standard limbers and caissons, and - pace all purists - does it really matter in 10mm?

Well yes, there is a big difference, as big as the difference between the artillery of the guard and the artillery of the line!

I don't think there is a difference in the limbers and caissons themselves (although I bow to anyone who knows!), the difference is in the men on and around them.    The difference in uniform is quite dramatic, and it seems a bit churlish to force the Horse Artillery of the Guard to have their guns pulled by mere "lignards"!

Ah, so its the crews and not the limbers and caissons themselves, I see, I see.

Yes, the crew figures for limbers and caissons in the Imperial Guard in 1870 would be a boon. I too am in the process of building the Guard Corps and as the rules I will be using involve a campaign with only starting points as 1870 then it is VERY likely my Guard Corps will be making an appearance; so regard this as another vote.

I can recommend the mounted Guard Carabiniers  - some of the best mounted figures Pendraken have done and surprised they did the pack as only one regiment of them

Yes, I agree. I,ve also bought some of the new Napoleonic cuirassiers and dragoons for the Guard, and these look right. What about the Guard Guides? Should we push for an 1870 figure or is there a suitable Napoleonic?
