I'm not buying bloody Prussians.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

QuoteClearing up my desk area. Found these:

IMG_20251118_133727.jpg

25 'bolter-shell' pots and 43 newer ones, none newer than 2009. All dried up of course. Some well used, some clearly never even opened.

More de-cluttering:
Untitled(4).jpg

76 double-sided & 73 single-sided 3½" floppy-disks. Including original Microsoft install disks for both MS-DOS 6.20 and 6.21, lots (and lots) of stuff for Doom, and disks for Compuserve Information Manager for both Dos & Windows 3.1.

Also random memory modules & and USB-->PS2 adaptor.

The crap we keep. None of these disks will have seen the light of day for at least 25 years.

Nostalgia central!

I'd forgotten there even were single sided and double sided 3.5" floppy disks

Those green ps2/USB adapters were everywhere but actually hardly used IIRC

Hmmm. Just checked eBay. People are trying to sell these things. Was going to just bin them but might try a listing or two.

De-cluttering/nostalgia post #3:
Untitled(5)jpg.jpg

Plenty of these on eBay, including at least one person trying to flog the envelopes.

Surprisingly, there seems to very little information about Truprint the company on the internet. Like when they stopped their processing/free film service. I presume they went bust sometime ago. The Truprint name is now owned by Snapfish. I doubt they'd honour the processing . . .

I've also found 27 IKEA pencils.

Last one, I promise:

No batteries - or cassettes - to hand, so don't know if it still works.

I've started wondering about the size of gap between desk and wall.

It wasn't that long ago I found some 5 1/4" floppies to throw out. Including Dos 6.0 and orriginal windows.

They are so usefull to leave in the shed, Garage, Toolbox Etc. Mrs orcs tells me off for collecting so many when we go to Ikea - I say thet I am only doing as asked, picking one up each time I go past a pile witha huge sign saying "Please Take One"
She was less than impressed when I taught her girls when they were young to collect them as well, and also paint stirrers from Costa :) .

My local Morrison's has a table & 4 chairs by the delicatessen counter. On the table is a sign saying "Feel free to take a seat".

I'm always tempted to pick up a chair & wander off with it.

Update on the guy at work painting some ECW.

He usually does Warhammer - he is painting each 10mm individually...

I suppose he is doing the Base coat, Mid coat, Top coat shading thing, followed by wash and pick out the highlights. Thats the way to madness, but on the plus side when the men in white coats come to take him away you migh be able to get your hands on 10-15 very nicely painted 10mm ECW :d

Someone on the pub quiz team has just mixed up Kenneth Williams and Kenneth Moore.

An awful lot of War movies are very different...
