Hi

I'm planning on painting up a couple of battalions of the Swiss Diesbach Infantry Regiment for my Pendraken French Seven Years War army and on the Kronoskaf website they are described as having 'garance red' coats. Just wondering if someone could recommend a Vallejo colour to match?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Cheers Paul

(Don't worry, I set safe search to 'strict')

I know not exactly what you asked, but I don't have any Vellejo.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Garance red was also used to describe the colour of French uniform trousers in 1914 - so clearly a long-lived colour in French military circles.

And the shades linked to by Orcs are what I would associate with this shade.

Fred, you are confusing ME with Last Hussar - I am not sure which of us would be most offended.  ;D  ;D

In my defence, I tend to view the forum by latest post, and yours was just below LH's (well that's my excuse)

Me, obviously.  You can only dream of being mistaken for me.
