Morning Gentlemen,

Going to be running a RPG using the FUDGE ruleset. I'm looking for spell ideas

The character is a nature witch - she learned spells such as 'Calm Animal' and 'Enhance Plant' while working with farmers.

Now she is adventuring, any ideas for 'Earth based' spells. Will also take some 'Water' ideas (My spell system divides spells into the 4 classical elements, Water, Earth, Fire, Water.)

Cheers
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Spray fire elemental with water.
Leave spell check running (I'm not sure what that would do, but it sounds useful).
Soak hostile bowstrings.
Turn enemy army's beer into water.
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

See, SOMEONE is helpful
below I have a list of proposed spells. After is the Casting requirements for your thought.

Proposed casting - They are listed in order "School / Clade / Speciality"
The more levels, the more difficult it is to cast.
It is easiest to cast a spell from your School. Fire/Water are opposed, as are earth/Air. Opposed elements are more difficult to cast. The other two are 'Adjacent'

Calm Animal (Earth)
Calm Sheep  (Earth/Water)
Calm Cow    (Earth/Water)
Control Animal (Earth)
Terrify Animal (Earth/Fire)
Purify Water   (Water)
Control Plant  (Earth/Water)
Heat Water      (Water/Fire)
Earthshaker     (Earth/Fire/Fire)
Crumble        (Earth/Air)
Decay          (Earth/Air)
Grenade [makes thrown rock explode on contact with solid] (Fire/Earth)
Heal    (Earth/Water)
Mud     (Earth/Water)
Shape earth (Earth/Water/Air)

Ithoriel

In my long running RPG campaign the adventurers met a mage from time to time. His name was Blaise and he was immensely powerful. In a crisis he was focussed and deadly. The rest of the time he was woolly minded and constantly distracted by the most trivial things. He would announce that he was going to fetch something the party would find useful (wood, water, healing berries etc.) then wander off and forget to return.

I offer a selection of his non-combat spells.

Talk to Animal - allows caster to talk to animals. Does not allow animal to talk back.

Earth Walk - allows caster to walk on solid ground as if it were .... solid ground

Talk to Wall - allows caster to talk to walls. Does not allow wall to talk back. (see also: Talk to Animal)

Sleep - 1 in 3 chance target falls asleep. 1 in 3 chance caster falls asleep. 1 in 3 chance target turns into a sheep.

Fire - allows caster to create a small fire. Required components to cast: tinder, kindling, wood, flint & steel.

Summon Minor Demon - caster summons a minor demon. Demon not compelled to appear . So usually doesn't.

Summon Familiar - summons familiar cat. Material component: Cat food. Speech Component: "Here kitty, kitty , kitty!"

You get the idea I'm sure.

There are 100 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who can work from incomplete data

Orcs

Turn to Quicksand
Summon flesh eating worms
Turn to dust
Grow roots - Roots target to spot

I've finalised Runa's spell list. It was sent with the following apology

Quotethe sticking point was a spell list for Runa. In the end I asked a Wargames forum I am on. Unfortunately, while there were good suggestions, others acted like they were middle-aged British wargamers (an impression helped by the fact they are...)
