Last weekend me and Dave managed to grab a couple of hours spare and take a trip down to Scarborough, to visit Gerry Eliiott.  Some of you may already know of Gerry, and his previous work as the Wargames Holiday Centre, providing excellent gaming facilities for many years.  Over the past year, he's built himself a fantastic new gaming building in his back garden, and has decided that 10mm is the way forward!  The first batch of WW2 figures Gerry got from us have now been all painted up, and were making their debut on this fantastic setup!

Of course, I had to grab some pics!

From each corner of the room:

Underneath the tables there's a whole load of storage:

With some Pendraken buildings lurking:

This guy keeps an eye on everything:

Dave peruses the setup:

And the other table:

And some closer views:

Gerry's currently working on a big Napoleonic game, so we'll be doing our best to get down for that one as well!

WOW! Pretty cool wargaming room!,,   :o

How large is the building?

Does a club meet there?

Leon

I think the building is 30x24ft, with the two main tables being 24x6ft each.  It's Gerry's own wargaming paradise, but he holds regular sessions for friends.

It's terrible to have game-room envy :(.

Exactly the sort of set-up I intend to have when I win the lottery (any day now!). Ah well, one can dream, I suppose.  :D

That's a lovely set-up...but...why has he [by the looks of it] just painted his tables green rather than texturing / flocking etc?  :-\

Simplicity I think, and ease of changing the layouts.  He's got all kinds of terrain and buildings underneath the tables.

Not sure I'd flock or texture the table surface. Much more flexible to use terrain tiles that you can swap about at will. Or just free-standing hills, rivers etc. :-\
