I would also be interested in your thoughts on the game.   I think the author ran a 6mm Trojan Wars variant and I found this particularly appealing !

On the subject of rule sets, the Japanese have a word I am very fond of. The word is tsundoku.

It means a person who owns a lot of unread literature. One who buys books, piles them up and never quite gets around to reading them.

I'm sure that covers rule books.

So one who has a large collection of partially completed math(s) puzzle books would be a sudoku tsundoku?
