I picked up Sharpe Practice  2nd edition second hand. Any opinions?
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

If you like Too Fat Lardies rules then it's great. Forces don't need to be large for a game.

fred.

I played it a lot with Pendraken figures for the Peninsular - really enjoyed the games. Personally I think it looks much better with 10mm (or 15mm) figures than with 28mm figures in 2 ranks of 4 figures.

A good game but one that you need to play a lot and ideally as part of a cap=mpaign, to get the most out of it. We didn't play enough so kept coming back to the rules cold, much preferring Dan Mersey's rules as they are easy for pick up games yet you can play them as part of a campaign too.

I enjoyed them, 1870 are different. Napoleonic next, just finishing off some French line and extras

Thank you gentlemen.  At some point in the next few months  a certain "Dark Lord" may well receive an order.

Further question.

Rules were written with larger scales in mind, I believe. They state each figure represents 1-5 men. I'm thinking in 10mm I could actually put 3 men on a base (because 30 in a bag - I can get 10 bases for one bag). For the game it is the BASE not number of figures.

How do you see the game - regimented lines, or skirmish a bit all over the place (a la a certain rifleman)?

Down side is 3x cost, 3x the painting.
