Hope everyone's having a good few days break.

As a foil to finishing writing up our last Montrose scenario (Philiphaugh) I was looking for some modern 6mm stuff I haven't touched for quite a while for an upcoming game and discovered just how much 6mm early war British armour I have.....a lot more than what I thought - more like a brigade than a single regiment :o

It needs some a LOT of TLC so into the green stuff to be stripped and repainted/rebased - this stuff is 20+ years old!

Dropped one of the twins off in town today and since one of my FLGS is just round the corner from there I was finally able to get a matt clear varnish spraycan and some filler to progress a couple of other projects too.

Are you going for France or the Western Desert when you repaint them?

You might want to compare the old models vs current ones, as some of the older tanks were a bit basic. And being vehicles have none of the old school charm of some of the fantasy figures.

Or given the cost and practicalities of shipping several kilos of small tanks to NZ - you might just want to ignore the above!

Going to be BEF Fred - 1st Army Tank Brigade and a brigade from 1st Armoured Division.

WDF and their Italian opponents are well covered locally already in 6mm  :)

Most of the cruisers and Matilda 2's look fairly current actually. The Matilda I's are an older model but once stripped and repainted should be good enough to give Rommel a good run for his money around Arras and support the Cameronians at La Basse Canal. Got a fairly complete French DLM from Rhys years ago and got plenty of German kit too though the 38t's need a bit of time in the panzer workshop by the look of them.

Got to get the existing paint off them first, the green stuff looks to be working pretty well.

Not planning on buying new stuff at this stage......."we'll go with what we've got".

Sounds good

Matilda Is are that odd looking that older models are hardly going to be that big a problem!

We played a lot of France 1940 games earlier this year - and they were a lot of fun, with the rather weak tanks, which every now and again get to be very effective due to limited AT.

Adding in the French sounds good - much more interesting camouflage than the British and the Germans.
