I gather age and cost has caught up with him as well (dangerous trend, as my increasingly tired bones tell me!).

I think Oscar found that a fun part-time hobby business was becoming more of a stressful full-time responsibility, which wasn't what he wanted from it.  It's something that a lot of the smaller businesses hit at some point, and with the profits in this industry being as they are, much of the time it's not financially viable to quit the day job and go full-time in the hobby.

Yeah, I can imagine - it goes from doing something you love into a huge chore, a huge chore that actually doesn't pay off in any meaningful way
