First two games of Badcon with a tasty Provancal army, could they drive out clear (D.O.C.) or end up in a stew?

Mexican take-aways, Duval beer and Dead Man's Fingers rum sounds like a great weekend to me! Oh, and there was some wargaming as well????

Sounds like you had a great weekend away and finishing 7th is not too shabby IMHO.

I totally agree and having a 'Dark Age' themed event with large armies of pretty bog-standard infantry is a good way to see who really is a good player. All too often 'Dark Age' events drift eastwards in their army selections - hosts of Byzantines or Seljuks or even the likes of Khmer or Ghaznavids.
Well done for coming 7th ... & I particularly liked the Moorcock themed commanders ... but I think you needed a lot more Marsh from a terrain choice perspective and a river or waterway as well.

A 28mm Count Brass is on the table for next weekend.
I will field more marshes. :)
