I have never understood 'Lock Step' march. It ALWAYS looks silly... (And, yes... 'Ministry Of Silly Walks' comes to mind!  ;D ).
Has there ever been a 'useful' point to it.. apart from 'precision drill' and stamina buiding?
(40 Yrs ago. I should have been an Angry Young Man... but wasn't.
