Ah right, that's another one then!  There's a 2nd hand seller who is doing the same thing with figure prices on their stand.  The plan is to push people to online purchasing so that they can stop doing the shows in the next few years. 

That sounds a very weird approach.

I suspect with second hand stuff there is more of a need to see stuff to compare and check out condition , unlike with new where you know what you are getting.

I'd suggest they should be looking at why their customers aren't buying online, as I suspect it isn't price. They might need more photos or more descriptions or better search on their website.

So . . . could you order it online while at the show (from your phone?) at the cheaper price & go and collect it there & then?

There certainly seems some perverse logic there.
I guess it's a balance between inconvenience and the notorious "Exposure".
