That's a relief. If you'd liked it, I'd have had to delete Zaz from my music catalogue.

Anyway, here are some photos of my Wurttemberg army - sometime between 1811 and 1813.
8 battalions of line, 4 of light, plus 3 batteries of artillery.

von Koch's Brigade of the 4th and 5th Infantry.

Cavalry - 2 regiments of Chevau Leger and 2 of Mounted Jaegers.

790 infantry, 160 cavalry and associated hangers on.

As a side note: I used W J Rawkins e-book as my reference for the Wurttembergers.

I was looking for some additional books, but he apparently he passed away in December.

Does anyone have any news of his books being available?

The army DOES look rather splendid, Nobby !  :-bd

(I'm trying to figure out whether the 'mat'...that now (to me) looks green, is the same as the 'blue' one ?

I need to know...or has my colour vision gone completely waffy ? :'( :'(

Cheers - Phil. :)

B****r It! Just spent a 'LONG TIME' on an explanatory post/reply to a different post.. but timed out!  >:(
Gist was: Mat was Blue. Now, Green. Different mat? Or same mat with diifferent light?
So many things subjective to view!

Doesn't matter, nice troops!  :)

Ah!

My armies are stored in Really Useful Box ... ermm ... boxes.

I put felt sheets under them as a handy visual guide - British are red, French are Blue, Russians are dark green, Americans are yellow. Poles are red and white (like the flag). These ones are apple green.  :D

Thought since we're having some if the hottest weather on record it would be a good time to get some long overdue varnishing done. Yesterday was still and roasting. Today looked to be similar but of course as soon as I got everything laid out and started spraying, along comes a strong breeze....

I think I got them varnished enough, along with my hand, my shirt and probably my lungs! Now if they can just dry without being flipped by the wind...

Have you tried standing upwind ;)
