Awww........Pants ! X_X

Just remembered we're 'locked in' today......BT are closing 250 yards of the road, including right outside Techno Towers, to do some 'pole work'......
Whether that means they're going to upgrade the lines...or simply replace a couple of the poles.....(or both)...I've no idea.

(At least one of the poles has a 'D' mark on it...which means it's 'iffy'.......Probably means we'll be without telephone/internet facilities on and off all day.) =)

Cheers - Phil.

Here is my random musing of the day:

I am irritated beyond reason by a TV advert in which a modern day character asks a character fleeing the Pompeii eruption what date it occurred and gets the reply 79 A.D.

Which is impossible because it wasnt a dating system used at the time. He would have said its the consulship of x and y or perhaps so many years AUC.

Why does this annoy me?  Asking a historical character anything is impossible and its just an advert.

Help!!  Before I waste half a day complaining to the ASA

Well....I want to know if you whisper a question to Alexa.....does 'she' really whisper back ? (I know the ad you mean.) ;)

I'll never know...I've got the damn thing disabled on my tablet.

Cheers - Phil. :D

I blame the Babel Fish doing the translation into English :-)

Well a few fellow Bloggers have rekindled my painting mojo, which is great as I haven't felt the urge to paint for quite some time now :). Seeing those pics FSN brought a smile to my face, reminding me of why I enjoy our hobby!

Presumably done with humour so acceptable in an advert.  What I object to is trying to have period dramas with characters thinking in totally inappropriate modern ways so that modern politically correct concepts can get inserted in the story line.
