Waste a second class stamp, and send them a cheque for £0.00p, Ian...That might stop them ?

Cheers - Phil. :)

Yes Matt, it is her final year, but I wouldn't imagine that it would be over a 50% cut!

I had to pay a cheque in this week, which seemed really weird, but fair play the automated paying machine was much better than when I last used one a couple of years ago.

Raider4

I use cheques regularly still, mostly for paying bills.

Cheques are GOOD !!! 'Real' paper...and you can 'date'!
I use Paypal a LOT... as it is 3rd party. So, 'some' securiity  'buffer'.
Suppose I will eventually be 'forced' into 'online banking' , but  absolutely NO TRUST in it.

I can never get paying machine to work, does seem to like the printed signature. I was annoyed years ago when they first started doing electronic clearance and it took a day LONGER than the old manual system - at least these days you pay in and it clears by COB the following day.

See if any of you have a bright idea/answer to this 'conundrum'.

Yesterday, the boiler was heating up the water...but wasn't sending it around the radiators.  (Wasn't intending to have it on for that long.....just to take the 'chill' off the house).
Hot water out of the taps was fine.

I tried ALL sorts to get it going, to no avail.
This morning..deep joy....It's working again.

It did the same thing a few weeks ago...but that was on a day when the temperature (outside) was pretty damn warm. Fair enough, the thermostat 'didn't feel the need' to heat the house, I guess.

(Coincidently, I was having a chat to one of the Tesco operatives, before the store opened, and he mentioned that his central heating hadn't come on, on the same day....So, in a way, that solved that ''mystery'.

Yesterday it was really quite chilly, so I'm a bit bemused.

Cheers - Phil. :-

Sounds like the motorized valve stuck. They sometimes correct themselves as yours has. Some also have a manual leaver that allows you to override its current position.
