Michael Collins, crew member of Apollo 11, who was in the Command Module orbiting the Moon when Armstrong & Aldrin were on the surface. Thankfully, he didn't have to make the journey back alone (what a thought).
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

A good innings and the often forgotten member of the crew. Good point about the possibility of having to come home alone, which I'd never considered!

Sad to hear of the death of another old colleague from my time at GW.

From what I understand he'd been very poorly, for quite some time.

Richard Halliwell, "Hal".....I'll always remember him as the man behind the original "Space Hulk".......(And Dark Furure.)

Likewise, Phil. I didn't know your ex-colleague but understand how you may feel. Fondly remembering a chap I used to work with some 25 years back, I recently googled his name and was both shocked and saddened to find his obituary and that he had only recently passed away in January after long illness.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I met Richard once, can't remember where now, presumably Lenton.

We were both standing looking idly around and introduced ourselves.

I said,"Oh, you were behind Dark Futures" and he replied in the affirmative.

I said I preferred Car Wars but that the figures were proving useful for Laserburn games.

He thought for a few moments, said something profound .... like,"Hmmm," spotted someone he knew and wandered off.

About par for the course for my interactions with the great and the good, I'd say.

Despite that fleeting interaction, I'm sorry to hear he's gone.
