My 12 month ECW project finally reaches the most critical element

These wee fluffy lads sure look important, make sure they end up pristine!

Also, how easy is it to take off minis from hot glue?

One of the woolly troopers needs a banner with a cross St George.

Its just cheap PVA (Poundland type) so it holds them for painting (mostly!) but they either  pull or can be wobbled off.  levered by the base if they have weak legs.

I was going to base 1/2 of  them with a general and have them follow him around like er... loyal subjects
And the other 1/2 getting in the way of a wagon

I'm sure they're sheeply devoted to their leader.

Two more battalia done, this time Essex's Lord Generals  Rgt for Parliament. Note that in For King and Parliament these are classed as large units hence the third rank. Now I'm not sure if this gives them a bit of a Thirty Years war look about them but as I couldn't extend the frontage I had no choice, what do you recon?

A couple more here: https://thenorthumbrianwargamer.blogspot.com/search/label/10mm%20ECW

The sheepman tag is from my farming days, you can well understand that the lads at the club let me know all of the connotations of my past association with livestock, but I'm broad shouldered enough to take it, well if you can't laugh at yourself and all that!  ;D
Still can't seem to make these photos smaller, where precisely do I type in the numbers to do this?
Dave.

Agreed, these are very nicely done.

(possibly) stupid question - shouldn't it be "For King or Parliament"?

I believe it comes from the start of the war where a man was stopped by some royalists and asked if he was for king or parliament and he replied "I am for King AND Parliament" as the Parliamentary side still professed loyalty to the King, and insisted that it was simply the King was under the influence of unsavoury advisors who led him astray, thereby giving legitimately to their cause.

The Royalists killed the man as a traitor if memory serves.

What do you guys recon to the slight mix of uniform colours, I would guess that complete uniformity would have been difficult to achieve even at the beginning of a campaign never mind when wear and tear set in. I decided to have a theme colour using the little info out there but I thought every man identical would be a little unrealistic. Just a guess of course but what do you think?
